Coronavirus update - 23rd March 2020
Following the latest government advice we have reluctantly decided that our site will be completely closed to the public from today.
At present we anticipate the closure will last for several weeks. We expect to look again at all advice and guidance in early May and take a decision if and when we can reopen and resume trains.
During this closure our volunteers will be carrying on with essential maintenance works across all parts of the railway. This will ensure we are in a position to reopen to the public as soon as the situation allows. This will include regular movement of works trains, so please do not be surprised if you see a train. We will of course be putting in place extra measures for the safety of all our volunteers and following all relevant advice.
We’d like to thank our visitors and volunteers for their support during these unprecedented times. Please keep an eye on our social media channels for all the latest news from the railway. We’ll do all we can to keep you updated.
